how to spell check while typing
- Open a content file.
- Do one of the following, depending on the part of the user interface you are using:
Ribbon Select the Tools ribbon. In the Spell Check section select Spell Check While Typing.
- Menu Select Tools>Spell Check While Typing.
- Type text in your file. Questionable words are underlined with a jagged red line.
- To take action on a questionable word, right-click on it. Then select one of the following from the menu:
- Alternate spelling suggestions are listed in bold at the top of the menu. If you want to use one of those spellings instead of the current spelling, select the new word.
- If you want to keep the spelling of the current word and ignore all additional instances of the word in the file (i.e., the jagged red line will be removed from the words, but the words will remain in the file), select Ignore All. Additional occurrences of the word in other topics will still be flagged as a questionable spelling if you use spell check in those files.
